Your reading is personal. The app collects only what it needs to work, never sells your data, and nothing about you is public unless you choose to share on the leaderboard.
Who we are
Quran Khatam Tracker (package com.quran.khatam.tracker) is a free app for tracking your Quran reading and khatams, on Android and on the web. This website stores nothing about you and uses no cookies or analytics. For any question, email teamsazen@gmail.com.
Stored on your device
Your name, reading progress, niyyah, khatams, awards, XP, reading preferences and any downloaded Quran text are stored on your device. If you read as a guest and keep the leaderboard private, your reading never leaves your device.
Your account
The app signs you in as an anonymous guest through Firebase Authentication. This creates a random account ID; it holds no name or email.
If you choose to sign in with Google, Firebase stores your Google email address and name so you can sign in again. We never see your Google password. With a signed-in account, a private backup of your progress is saved in Firebase so it can be restored on another device. Server rules let only you read or write it.
Leaderboard
The first time you open the leaderboard, you choose once: share my progress, or keep it private. The app confirms the choice and it can’t be changed in the app afterwards. Your choice, with your display name, is saved to your account so the servers can enforce it.
Only if you choose to share, these are visible to other readers:
- your display name (2 to 30 characters)
- XP, ayahs read, surahs and khatams completed
- the awards you have unlocked, and the date you joined
Your email address and your reading history are never shared. Server rules accept exactly these fields, and only from readers who chose to share. To have a public entry removed, email us.
Third-party services
- Google Firebase: sign-in, backup and the leaderboard.
- Firebase App Check, using Google Play Integrity on Android: confirms requests come from a genuine copy of the app.
- AlQuran Cloud: the Quran text and translations the app downloads.
- Google Play: app updates on Android.
These services may process technical data such as your IP address and device details when the app connects to them, under their own privacy policies. The app has no ads, no analytics and no tracking SDKs, and we never sell or rent your data.
Security
Everything sent between the app and its servers is encrypted in transit. The database denies all access by default; each rule opens only what one reader needs.
Keeping and deleting data
Data is kept while your account exists. Reset all progress in Settings deletes every khatam, completion and your current niyyah, and updates your backup and any public entry.
To delete your account and everything linked to it, email teamsazen@gmail.com from the address on your Google account, or tell us your display name if you read as a guest. We delete the account, backup and leaderboard entry within 30 days and confirm by email. Data kept only on your device is removed when you uninstall the app or clear the site’s data.
Children
The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond what is described here. A parent who believes their child has shared information can email us to have it removed.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Significant changes are pointed out in the app.
